Our Family

At Riverbank, our team strongly believe that everyone involved in a child’s life plays an integral part in helping them to achieve their full potential.

Home from home

We do our best to create a homely, family like atmosphere which facilitates each child’s learning and curiosity to ensure they feel valued and included.  We work together with parents to create a nurturing environment with high quality care and play-based learning experiences, providing opportunities for children to question, problem solve, investigate, explore, talk, listen, take risks, develop self-esteem, be motivated and creative.

Each child entrusted into our care is allocated at least one key person. This is a member of the staff team who will form a particularly close working relationship with the child to provide care and learning opportunities based on their individual needs.  This role exists to complement the bond between a child and family.  We recognise that individual children need responsive adults to build relationships which are reciprocal, loving, and respectful.

All staff are fully qualified and experienced in early learning and childcare learning.  We are a well-rounded team with a variety of diverse qualifications with many years of practical childcare and life experiences to offer to our wider family.

To maintain a high level of quality, childcare standards and performance are continually monitored with all the team having the opportunity to participate in continued professional learning and training throughout the year to extend and improve their knowledge, translating this into good practice when working with children, parents, carers as well as other professionals. Regular team meetings and in-house training are used to further promote a feeling of team spirit, which we believe encourages staff to feel proud of the important role they play in your child’s development.

All members of our team are PVG vetted and all childcare members are registered with SSSC.

Parents as partners

We work together with parents to improve the quality of care, play and learning by Sharing information, Promoting an open-door policy, Welcoming parents’ views and contributions, Communicating effectively to support children’s development and learning, Sharing the work of the nursery through Standards and Quality Report, all of which contribute to improving the work of the nursery.
